My name is Sambridhi Adhikari. I was born in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2008 and moved to the USA with my mom in 2013. Currently, I’m a 5th grader at Vista Ridge Middle School, Keller, Texas. I am very blessed to live in Texas and benefit facilities that some others don’t have.

My parents, Sudip and Sarita Adhikari are my life teachers. From their engagement in social work and community involvement, I have learnt the power of respect and the need to help people with less opportunity.

My involvement in helping poor and needy started last year. I along with my two good friends, Aubrey and Kiera, were assigned to create a lemonade stand for school educational project. The aim of the project was to understand the basic concepts of profit and expenses. During the project, we were very fortunate to generate some dollars and I am delighted that my father matched dollar for dollar to the raised fund. We decided to donate the fund to Punya Foundation for education of a poor child. This project gave me an encouragement that I am able to generate funds. I feel very proud that Punya Foundation coupled me with Iruna Sapkota as her sponsor for her primary education.

Iruna Sapkota, Nepal
