Punya Foundation approached the NRNA SA asking for support in order to give continuity to its projects in Nepal. The meeting was held on 22 April 2022 at Bhoye Chhen – Cafe and Restaurant in Adelaide.
Punya Foundation team consisting of Mr Sanman Kafley (Director of Administration), Mr Hari Adhikari (Coordinator), and Mr Kashi Adhikari (Director of Programs) was led by Mr Hari Pokhrel (Director of Finance). The NRNA team led by SA SCC Coordinator Ms Renuka Lama consisted of Mr Sanjay Puri (Deputy Coordinator), Mr Vinod Vaniya (Secretary), Mr Shanker Bhattarai (Joint Secretary) and Mr Devendr Kharel (Public officer). Both parties discussed issues of mutual interests and avenues for collaboration.
Punya Foundation team highlighted its projects in Nepal – scholarships to orphaned, poor and vulnerable children and to the blind and visually impaired girls. An appraisal on women empowerment projects was done. The NRNA SA has been providing financial assistance to Punya Foundation to provide scholarships to children rendered orphans by the earthquakes of 2015.
Ms Lama appreciated Punya Foundation’s support to vulnerable community in Nepal. The NRNA SA highlighted on the importance of advocacy and networking for charity works and offered to organise a fundraising dinner in August 2022 for Punya Foundation. The meeting concluded positively to enhance collaboration and expand support to deserving people in Nepal.
Punya Foundation thanks Mr Deeman Rajopadhyaya, the State Youth Coordinator of NRNA SA for providing with the meeting space and light refreshment to the NRNA delegates and Punya Foundation team.
