Mr Krishna Kharel was born in Chirang Bhutan and during the political crisis of 1992 he and his family were evicted from Bhutan, and they were living in Sanischare Refugee Camp for almost 18 years. He lost his dad, Lt. Agni Kharel when he was seven years old. His mother worked hard all her life to raise three sons and three daughters.
Mr Krishna Kharel got his primary education from Gairigaon School in Bhutan up to grade four. He then studied at New Horizon Academy Sanischare, Pathri from fifth to tenth grade. Mr Krishna Kharel did his high school at Siddhartha Boarding Secondary School, Damak and obtained his bachelor’s degree from Mahendra Morang Campus, Biratnagar.
As Bhutanese Refugee got resettled to different countries, Mr Krishna Kharel and his family came to Minnesota, USA in 2009. He had to navigate a lot of challenges during that period to ease life in his new country. He worked hard and obtained his second bachelor’s degree in Nursing. He is now working as a Registered Nurse in Ohio.
Mr Krishna Kharel says, “year 2020 become the worst year in my life that I lost my mom who raised and supported me for my educations and helped me to be what I am today”. He further adds, “as a remembrance and to pray for her soul to rest in peace in the heaven, I want to support needy people with their education to make their future bright”. Mr Krishna Kharel together with his family (wife Sabitra, daughter Krisa and sons Krisal and Krisan) dedicate to support needy students for their education.
