On 20 August 2022, a computer institute providing basic to advanced level computer courses was launched in the Bhutanese refugee camps in Beldangi, Jhapa, Nepal. The project is sponsored by Punya Foundation USA, monitored by Punya Foundation Nepal and implemented by FANS CLUB Punya Foundation.
Mr Yub Raj Rai, who foresees the project implementation, reports that the program is running smooth, 120 students are attending the classes, over 150 enrolments are waitlisted, and students and their family’s expressing thankfulness. Besides the Bhutanese refugee community, the project also accommodates local community residents. There are 3 computer teachers who run the classes in 12 shifts.
