Sri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav in Salisbury Brings Community Together

The Sri Krishna Janmashtami Mahotsav was celebrated on Friday, 4 September 2026, at 25 Mawson Road, Salisbury SA 5108, bringing together devotees, families and members of the wider community for an afternoon of prayer, devotion, spiritual reflection, music and fellowship.

Organised by the Mandir Construction Committee and Punya Foundation, the celebration commenced with mandap preparation, followed by Swastivachan and Mandap Puja. The rituals were led by Pandit Devicharan Dhungel, Mr Tikaram Sapkota and Mr Dharma Timsina. This was followed by the collective recitation of Vishnu Sahasranama. Pandit Gangaram Bhattarai led the Archana ceremony. Participants then attended a discourse on the life and teachings of Lord Krishna by Swami Khagendra Neupane.

A special devotional programme was led by Swami Shantiram Dhakal. The afternoon continued with Bhajan and Kirtan, coordinated by Mr Kashi Adhikari and Mrs Yogamaya Kafle. The celebration concluded with Aarti, Pushpanjali and Abhishek, led by Mr Basudev Khatiwada and Pandit Somanath Bhattarai. Tirtha Prasad was subsequently distributed by Mr Dharma Timsina and Mr Dharma Adhikari. The programme facilitated by Mr Narayan Bhattarai, with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr Hari Paudel.

The Janmashtami celebration provided an opportunity for the community to come together in devotion to Lord Krishna while strengthening cultural connections, spiritual wellbeing, fellowship and community harmony. The gathering reflected the shared commitment of the Mandir Construction Committee and Punya Foundation to fostering an inclusive community environment where people of all generations could participate in cultural and spiritual activities. Punya Foundation thanks Mr Dilli Dahal and Ms Pabitra Dahal for providing thier private residence to organise the program.

यस पावन उत्सवलाई तयारीदेखि समापनसम्म सफल बनाउन आफ्नो अमूल्य समय, श्रम, सहयोग र सहभागिता प्रदान गर्नुहुने सम्पूर्ण श्रद्धालु भक्तजन, समाजसेवी, स्वयंसेवक, गुरुजीहरु तथा भाइ–बहिनीहरूमा मन्दिर निर्माण समिति, एडिलेडको तर्फबाट हार्दिक धन्यवाद तथा एकमुष्ट कृतज्ञता ज्ञापन गर्न चाहान्छु । विशेषगरी यस सामाजिक तथा धार्मिक कार्यका लागि आफ्नो स्थान उपलब्ध गराई महत्वपूर्ण सहयोग गर्नुहुने दाहाल परिवारप्रति विशेष आभार तथा धन्यवाद छ ।

त्यसैगरी, कार्यक्रमको तयारीका लागि धेरै अघिदेखि नै निरन्तर खटिनुहुने सम्पूर्ण यस परिवारका सदस्यहरु, आज बिहानैदेखि भान्सामा रहेर अथक मेहनत गर्नुहुने महिला दिदीबहिनीहरू, मण्डप तथा पूजा व्यवस्थापनमा जुट्नुहुने गुरुजीहरू, आचार्यजीहरू तथा स्वयंसेवक भाइबहिनीहरू लगायत प्रत्यक्ष तथा अप्रत्यक्ष रूपमा सहयोग गर्नुहुने सम्पूर्ण महानुभावहरूप्रति हार्दिक धन्यवाद व्यक्त गर्दछु ।

तपाईंहरूको श्रद्धा, भक्ति, समर्पण, एकता र निःस्वार्थ सेवाभाव नै यस्ता धार्मिक तथा सामाजिक कार्यक्रमहरूको सफलताको मुख्य आधार हो ।आगामी दिनहरूमा पनि यस्ता सामाजिक कार्यहरूमा सबैको श्रद्धा, भक्तिभाव र सहयोग निरन्तर जुटिरहोस् यही कामना छ ।
