Mr Prakash Koirala was born and raised in Bhutan. Due to political instability, in June 1992, he and his family were evicted from their home country. He spent almost two decades in the refugee camp in eastern Nepal. After completing his secondary education from the refugee camps in Jhapa, Nepal he attended the Tribhuvan University to pursue master’s degree in English. On 12 March 2008, Mr Koirala landed in Texas along with his family. He had to put his dreams on hold for years to give time to his family to overcome challenges in learning to adapt to life in the States. Most of his plans and dreams got derailed; however, he was able to complete his MBA in Human Resource Management in June 2018.

Mr Prakash Koirala lives a happy life along with his family and loving parents. He and his amazing wife have two children, a boy, and a girl. His son is attending Texas Tech University pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering and his daughter is in high school. Currently, Mr Koirala lives in Watauga Texas in DFW Metroplex.

Mr Koirala is a dynamic person who led the Bhutanese community organization in DFW Metroplex and served at different capacities. Besides being an entrepreneur, he is a very active person who thinks a small help can make a big difference.

Witnessing a lot of suffering in the refugee camps, he developed a passion to help fellow refugees and others, primarily to assist them in attaining their education and skills needed to improve their lives while instilling in them the ethic of responsibility, community, and social awareness. Mr Koirala sponsors Rachana Thapa.

Rachana Thapa, 14, is a student studying at Shree Ananda Secondary School, Jalbire, Balefi Rural Municipality, Ward No 1 of Sindhupalchok District in Nepal. Rachana belongs to a poor family. Her parents are struggling to send her to the school for her studies. Her parents are illiterate. Her father does physical labour on daily wage basis, when available. Her mother is housewife. Rachana want to be a teacher. She is seeking for helping hands to support her education.
