Punya Foundation had to halt its Multi-Cultural Spiritual Program (MCSP) since 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. It is with a lot of enthusiasm the Foundation team organised a 3-days MCSP from 16 to 18 September 2022 in Adelaide. The program aimed to generate funds for the education of orphaned, poor, and vulnerable children in developing countries. The Foundation also contributes to the empowerment process of women victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Some of the dignitaries who made to the MCSP were mayor of Playford City Council Mr Glen Docherty, Mr Lee Odenwalder MP (Member for Elizabeth) and Ms Renuka Lama NRNA SA state coordinator. Mr TB Rai from SBNLC was the chief guest and Mr Mohan Hangkhim, President of BAASA as the special guest. Representatives of more than a dozen of community organisation attended and volunteered to make the program successful. The MCSP was attended by people of wide age group variation – elderlies, youths, entrepreneurs, social workers, professionals, students, and representatives from governmental and non-governmental organisations.
The program observed spiritual Hindu discourses by Pundit Tirtharaj Poudyal, Pundit Gangaram Bhattarai and Pundit Somnath Bhattarai. Similarly, Telku Kezang Rimpoche and Kirat guru Buddhiman Chamling Rai highlighted oneness of Kirat, Hindu and Buddhist under the umbrella of OMKAAR family. A minute silence was observed praying for late Queen Elizabeth’s soul to rest in peace. The program attracted cultural performances and bhajan by different groups. Ms Ishwara Adhikari and Ms Menuka Kafley facilitated children art sessions.
Mr Tilchand Sapkota (CEO Punya Foundation) welcomed guests, participants, gurus, supporters, and volunteers and wished all for an enjoyable and fruitful sessions of spirituality. The local business entrepreneurs expressed thankfulness for the invitation. Mr Kashi Adhikari (Program Director, Punya Foundation) thanked gurus, volunteers, participants, and volunteers for their support. He particularly thanked donors for their generosity. Mr Mohan Bhattarai was appreciated for coordination of volunteers.
