Dear well-wishers,
All of us are aware of the COVID-19 pandemics. This disease is hitting hard on many of our donors and volunteers – when some are sick, isolating and recovering, others are facing financial hardships due to lockdown and layoff.

Punya Foundation wanted to organise a number of activities in 2020 targeting the local communities and its target groups in developing countries. However, for safety of its donors and volunteers, the Foundation had to cancel some of the planned programs, postponed others and the fundraising events are being put on a hold.

The Foundation team is closely monitoring how the pandemic unfolds. Once, normalcy ensues, we will plan our programs accordingly. The Foundation may need to downscale its programs but intends to continue

  • the scholarship program for orphans and vulnerable children in Nepal
  • the scholarship program for poor children in Ethiopia and
  • the women empowerment program in Gindabara district in Ethiopia and if possible in Lal Khola Village in Ilam district in Nepal.

Punya Foundation team wishes you all to keep safe. Please follow the local health advice, don’t take risks to expose elderlies, children, people with pre-existing medical conditions and pregnant women to this potentially deadly disease. The Foundation extends prayers to the families who have lost their loved ones and to those struggling with financial crisis. If you feel that the Foundation can be of any help, please contact one of our team members in your locality.
