Punya Foundation Park Cleaning 2024

Punya Foundation organised a park cleaning program in the Salisbury Council in South Australia on 12 May 2024. This is one of the Foundation’s community engagement programs.

Around 35 children and older persons assembled at the Pioneer Park in Salisbury to participate in the park cleaning program. The program was coordinated by Mr Hari Adhikari, Director of Community Engagement in support of Mr Krishna Luitel and Mr Khagendra Khatiwada, Punya Foundation’s Executives.

The park cleaning program aims to promote community engagement, establish networking, sharing lifetime events and at the same time contribute to the environmental cleanliness.

Dr Lakshmi Prasad Dhakal liaised with Ms Tamika Cook, Senior Natural Assets Officer, Salisbury Council to identify appropriate location, for the technical aspect and to secure cleaning kits. Punya Foundation acknowledges Clean Up Australia for the provision of clean up material.

Coinciding with the park cleaning program, Mr Tilchand Sapkota, the chief executive officer of Punya Foundation called to observe a minute silence on name of Dr Rizal. Mr Mohan Bhattarai, Director of Programs, outlined contributions of Dr Rizal to the community. On 5 May 2024, Dr Gobinda Rizal, one of the community’s aspiring academicians and human rights activists died in an accident.

Mr Sapkota thank all participants for volunteering to join the park cleaning program.
