In 2015, the Punya Foundation established a partnership with the Global Bhutan and the Canadian Bhutanese Association (CABTAS) to support for the education of poor and vulnerable children in Nepal. Global Bhutan and CABTAS are supporting the education project targeting to empower children who lost at least one of their parents during the earthquakes in April and May 2015 in Nepal. The Punya Foundation provides scholarships to vulnerable children who need external support to make their education possible.
Global Bhutan is a website launched by resettled Bhutanese in diaspora with a concept to connect Bhutanese Folks residing around the globe generating an online community. The Global Bhutan is a common platform for Bhutanese across the globe to share their news, views, articles and help promote Bhutanese-Nepali language, culture, tradition, literature, music and art via web based content. The Canadian Bhutanese Association (CABTAS) is an apolitical and a social association formed following a concerted effort of Canadian Bhutanese living in Ottawa, Ontario. The CABTAS, which is established following a rigorous discussion and deliberations is an inclusive association of all Bhutanese people resettled in Ottawa. It reflects, respects and works to preserve and promote the views, sentiments, language, religion and culture of the Canadian Bhutanese, mostly of Nepali ethnicity from southern Bhutan.
